There are also 2 special governed districts: the capital Bangkok (Krung Thep Maha Nakhon in Thai) and Pattaya, of which Bangkok is also at a provincial level, while Pattaya is part of Chon Buri Province

The Southern coastline is ideal for all aquatic fun in the sun with activities catering to all ages and skill levels. There is also an abundance of national parks (land and marine) scattered throughout the country providing a variety foroptions for exploring Thailand's natural wilderness.

It’s also well kown that Thailand is one of the most popular desinations in the world for shopping being an activity on most visitors itinerary. A wide range of beautiful and quality items are on offer everywhere including clothes, homewares, electrical goods, hand crafts, paintings, furniture, handbags, shoes and jewellery in fact the list of bargains is endless.

Elephant riding has become one of the most popular things to do for visitors to Thailand. Trained elephants can be ridden through local villages and surrounding forests; the type and length of rides varying from a 30-minute walk around an elephant village or tourist attraction to a three or five day trek through the jungle in northern Thailand. Some elephant rides can be incorporated into a long trek also combining mountain biking and rafting.
